ABOUT US
The Late B.V. Limaye Blood Bank, established in 1997, is an initiative of the Rotary Club of New Panvel Charitable Trust. It is responsible for the collection, testing and distribution of over 25,000 blood donations each year. The service operates from its own modern facility situated at a very strategic location at New Mumbai. The premises have been procured from CIDCO, a governmental city development organization and a modern building constructed thereupon. At these headquarter premises, located on the site at the start of India’s premier expressway, a total of almost 5000 donation sessions are held each year.

OUR AREA OF SERVICE
The majority of our club activities take place within New Mumbai. New (Navi) Mumbai is arguably the world's largest planned city.It was initially planned with a specific purpose: to decongest Mumbai and become an alternative haven for the multitudes that throng Mumbai from different parts of India. About 344 km². of land lying between village Dighe in Thane district and Kalundre village of Raigad district has been converted into a new city over the past 30 years by CIDCO. CIDCO carved out 14 nodes - small townships - of the land with a view to facilitate comprehensive development and to give it an identity of new city. These nodes are named Airoli, Ghansoli, Kopar Khairane, Vashi, Sanpada, Nerul, CBD Belapur, Kharghar, Kalamboli, Kamothe, New Panvel, Ulwe, Pushpak and Dronagiri where lies the New Mumbai International Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust JNPT. |
